Maruti Suzuki’s New Plant in Gujarat

Maruti Suzuki is all set to expand their manufacturing capabilities with their proposed plant in Gujarat, expected to be commissioned by mid 2015. The Gujarat Govt has allocated 700 acres for this purpose.
MSIL will invest around Rs.4,000-crore in the first phase for land and construction of the plant, to be situated around 100 km from Ahmedabad. Y.S. Siddiqui, Chief Operating Officer for Maruti Suzuki, who was recently in the state for FGI Expo 2013 Agro and Auto Summit has said, ” The Bechraji unit will manufacture 2.5 lakh cars per annum, while two other plants of the company located at Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana have been manufacturing 17.5 lakh cars per annum. With the Becharaji unit, total production of cars of the company will go up to 20 lakh per year.”
