He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in commerce from the University of Kerala and is a certificated associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He has also completed a banking diploma from the Institute of Bankers, London. He retired as Chairman and Managing Director of Syndicate Bank and was associated with Canara Bank for over 36 years, resigning as General Manager in 2006. He has also served as Chairman, Whole Time Director and Joint Managing Director of Wonderla Holidays Limited and as an Independent Director of Muthoot Finance Limited and ESAF Small Finance Bank Limited.
